Turkey burgers

Our four year old took a bite of this turkey patty and said, “Mmmmmmm, I like this!” He asked to eat turkey burgers each of the next three nights. That’s good enough for me!

Ingredients
16-20 ozs ground turkey
1 egg
Bread crumbs (I like Panko bread crumbs)
Butter
Water

Preparation
Combine the turkey, egg, and bread crumbs in a large mixing bowl.
Divide the mixture into 4-6 parties (depending on how big you like your patties.)
My husband cooks them on the stove top in a fry pan. Fill the fry pan with water until the water is half as high as your patty. Throw in some butter for good measure.
Cook over medium-high heat for 2-4 minutes and flip the burger. Cook for another 2-4 minutes. Check to make sure the turkey burger is cooked through before serving.

You could serve with a bun, ketchup, mustard, BBQ sauce, pickles, etc. We like them without the bun. The kids spread ketchup on top of the patty and I dip mine in BBQ sauce.

We served our turkey burgers with dill pickles from the Farmer’s Market, broccoli, and a protein smoothie.

The broccoli is so easy to prepare. Take freshly frozen broccoli and dump it into a fry pan. Cook over medium heat until cooked through. Personally, I like my broccoli browned; the extra flavor is great. We serve the broccoli with a touch of ground sea salt.

Do you have a special ingredient in your turkey burgers?
